The Curtain - London

Traveling through London, the newly opened 'The Curtain' seemed like a very good option for us to stay in. In the heart of Shoreditch,

The Curtain is situated near tube links (Old Street) and a vibrant nightlife…. It also helps that there was a heat wave in London at the time and we could enjoy the rooftop pool!!!

Red Rooster

After flying in early evening on a Friday night, we headed straight to the in house renowned Harlem restaurant, Red Rooster, which was situated on the lower ground with access to an outdoor space. The cool venue had little booths, a live band, a warm vibe and the food was sensational! I recommend the CC’s devilled eggs, guac and chips and the uptown steak.

The hotel was buzzing on a Friday night. The lift was packed with glitter coated folks on their way to a private function in the night club, the Green room on the ground floor full with locals and city workers enjoying an after work drink. I opted for the cocktail 'Sunday Service,' which was refreshing and delicious.

I’ll be honest, I couldn’t believe how busy the whole place was and thought it might be like that the whole time and we were staying a full week. I don’t want to sound like a party pooper; I was just working this week as well as a little play and needed to be able to sleep, work and relax a little. I didn’t need to worry though. Weekdays were busy with members and guests having lunch at the Lido on the rooftop but the craziness was certainly tamed down a bit.

Room

The room and hotel had a very cool design, the steam shower being the best bit. The room had two large chesterfield chairs which looked amazing but practically speaking I think we could have done with the space to either have a desk or some drawers for our belongings. We were in a standard room so I am sure this may not be the case for a suite.

Wellness

The pool was beautiful, deck chairs comfortable and the food at The Lido was OK and did the job but certainly not as good as Red Rooster.

I managed to get to the gym – equipment was good clean and plentiful. Finally I met Imarni from ‘Imarni nails’, she operates from the hotel. The nail salon is beautiful and she did an amazing job, she is so humble and lovely which was the icing on the cake.
